Ray Cooper ‘House Concert’ Review

Chris_maughan_ray_cooper_jacqu

An audience and a living room was all that was required for Ray "Chopper" Cooper to perform a fundraising initiative on behalf of Park Street Music CIC.  Cooper bassist and cellist from the established folk rock group Oysterband performed a solo house concert during a night off from the band's Ragged Kingdom Tour.  The evening of entertainment was a showcase of songs from Cooper's solo album "Tales of Love War and Death by Hanging." The intimate and enthralling performance captivated the audience imagination as both original compositions and arrangements of traditional works were accompanied by historical tales about heroes, villains and laments.

Park Street Music would like to thank Ray for his kind support and generosity and look forward to the return concert! Further information relating to Ray can be obtained from:

                            New Fundraising Initiative!

Park Street Music Director, Jacqui Norton invites you to trek with her across the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside with the aim of raising money for Park Street Music!

Over four days in 2012 (Saturday 16th June, Sunday 17th June, Saturday 23rd June and Sunday 24th June), Jacqui will be walking the Northamptonshire section of the Nene Valley Way.  She will be walking a total of  almost 68 miles and would like supporters of Park Street Music to keep her company along the route.

The route has been broken down into 5 sections, but individuals can join her for as little or as long as they wish, and in doing so help raise much needed funds for our non-profit organisation.

Badby to Kislingbury – 11.4 miles
Kislingbury to Cogenhoe – 10.5 miles
Cogenhoe to Irthlingborough – 13.8 miles
Irthlingborough to Barnwell 18 miles
Barnwell to Wansford – 14 miles

“Described as England’s most beautiful, undiscovered county….”

“The varied route leads you in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots and poet H.E. Bates, through bluebell woods, past havens for wildlife and into charming stone villages where you can rest to enjoy local produce in traditional English pubs…” (Northamptonshire County Council).

Exact details such as start times and start location (Jacqui may walk in the direction of Wansford to Badby for instance) are yet to be confirmed, but if you, your family or friends are keen walkers and would like to know more, please email info@parkstmusic.com
